A hybrid of Siamese Sweet pummelo x (Dancy mandarin x Ruby blood orange). The rind is moderately easy to peel and will turn a dark yellow when mature. In California, the fruit matures in February and when cut in half forms the shape of a hart; hence the name ‘Valentine”. This fruit is surprisingly easy to peel and has a moderate seed count. It’s flavor has been described as deeply complex, inheriting its pummelo parents subtle acid notes and floral hints from its Dancy parentage. This fruit is not to be missed and should be in every citrus growers collection.
